I will never forget the first service I attended, 8 years ago. It was a Tuesday evening and during that season of my life I was praying about moving to a different city. The moment I stepped into the service I heard the Lord say, “this is home.”
I still vividly remember the presence of the Lord being so strong and tangible during the prayer and worship. That night was the first time I had ever encountered true freedom in worship. I felt a little out of place as I had just come from a very conservative church and background, but I remember seeing people dancing, jumping, and singing to the Lord in complete freedom. I had someone come up to me and invite me to join in, but I responded by saying, “I’m not ready for that yet.” I remember observing that evening and leaving with a new fire and passion in my heart for more of God.
I can honestly say that my life has never been the same since that first night I attended Harvest Rock. I am now weekly inviting others to join in worship through dancing, shouting and offering expressive praise to God! The freedom in worship has marked my life and is something I am so grateful for.
